Abstract (Abstrak)

HULDANI. THE DIFFERENCE OF VO2 MAX AND IMMUNE PROFILE (HMBG1, CORTISOL, IL-6, TNFα, NUMBER OF LEUKOCYTES, NEUTROPHILS AND MONOCYTE) IN ADOLESCENT TRAINED AND UNTRAINED (SUPEVISED BY ILHAMJAYA PATELLONGI, MUH. NASRUM MASSI, IRFAN IDRIS)

This study aims to explain the differences in VO2 max values in adolescents and differences in levels of HMGB1, cortisol, IL6, TNF Alfa, and the number of leukocytes, neutrophils and monocytes after moderate intensity aerobic exercise (70-79% DNM) for 12 minutes.
This was a cross sectional study on 15 basketball-trained students and 15 untrained basketball students at SMAN 1 Banjarbaru with an average age of 17 years. The sampling technique was carried out by using purposive sampling method. Measurement of VO2 max value was done on the first day with MFT (Multistage Fitness Test / Bleep Test). Measurements of HMGB1, cortisol, IL6, TNF Alfa, and the number of leukocytes, neutrophils, and monocytes were carried out on the third day by taking blood after students did 12 minutes of running intensity aerobic exercise. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney test for VO2 max, cortisol, IL6, TNF Alfa, and leukocyte and monocyte counts and unpaired t test for HMGB1 and neutrophils.
The results showed that the average VO2 max, HMGB1, IL6, and cortisol scores of basketball-trained students were higher than those who were not trained. In contrast, the TNF alpha, leukocytes, neutrophils and untrained monocytes were higher in levels and numbers. The results of data analysis showed that there were significant differences in basketball-trained and non-trained students (p <0.05) on VO2 max, cortisol and TNF Alfa. There was no significant difference (p> 0.05) after 12 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise in basketball-trained and untrained students on HMGB1, IL6, the number of leukocytes, neutrophils, and monocytes. The conclusion of this study is that basketball-trained students have better VO2 max scores than untrained basketball students. 12 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise resulted in a higher increase in cortisol levels in basketball-trained students than in untrained students, while TNF alpha levels were the opposite. 12 minutes of aerobic exercise can be used as a method to increase the body's immune system and show the homeostasis process in adolescents is going well.
