Potret Tindakan Kriminalitas oleh Perempuan dalam Novel Harley Quinn Mad Love Karya Paul Dini dan Pat Cadigan = The Portrait of Woman’s Criminality Reflected in Harley Quinn Mad Love by Paul Dini and Pat Cadigan

This thesis aims to illustrate and analyze the unusual acts of criminality committed by women in Harley Quinn Mad Love. This study reveals the factors that drive psychological change of a woman until it stresses her to do things that are outside the order of norms and rules that are applied in the society. In the research process, the writer uses qualitative methods to collect data from library research. Then, the writer applies the Structuralism Approach to identify the intrinsic elements inside of this literary work. The intrinsic elements which are the foundation of this research are character and characterization, plot, and setting. Furthermore, in this research, the writer uses Psychoanalysis theory by Sigmund Freud to support and expose the psychological condition of the main character through the synthesis of id, ego, and superego. Besides, the writer also provides women criminality data from the United States that happened in 1990 – 1993 which the main character firstly published in the DC Comics Serial. Through this research, the writer finds that intrinsic elements of this novel portrayed the lifetime of the main character who has two different personalities. It is found that the main character has psychological disorders such as childhood trauma, obsessive love, identity transformation, and Stockholm syndrome. In this study, the writer examines the psychological condition of the main character from the bottom of her unconsciousness-consciousness.
