Abstract (Abstrak)

JAYA. The Effect of Health Literacy Using Digital Media on the Behavior of Parents of Toddlers in Preventing the Transmission of Childhood TB in Bunguran Timur Sub-District, Natuna District (Supervised by Muhammad Syafar and Suriah).
Background. In the third quarter of 2023, TB transmission in childhood in Natuna District continued to increase, the proportion of new cases of pediatric TB reached 47.48% of the total number of new TB cases totaling 139 cases. The number of pediatric TB cases in Natuna Regency shows an indicator that TB bacteria transmission is still ongoing in the community. Aim. To assess the influence of health literacy using digital media on the behavior of parents of toddlers in preventing TB transmission children in Bunguran Timur District, Natuna Regency. Methods. This study used a pre and post-test experimental Quasi design with control group. The total sample was 86 people who were divided into two groups. 43 people received education through "RUANG LAKSAMANA" developed from GlideApps and 43 people received education through WhatsApp groups. Bivariate analysis uses the Paired Sample T Test, Wilcoxon. Rank Test and Mann-Whitney tests. Multivariate analysis uses logistic regression. Results. There was a substantial average difference in knowledge, perception, attitude, self-efficacy, practice, stigma, and family support, as indicated by the Wilcoxon Rank Test and Paired Sample T Test results in both groups, both of which revealed p<0.05. Similarly, the Mann-Whitney test indicated a significant difference between the two groups, with all p-values less than 0.05. The logistic regression test in both groups showed that all p<0.05 simultaneously meant that the independent variables (access, understanding, assessment and application) had a significant effect on the dependent variables (knowledge, perception, attitude, self-efficacy, practice, stigma and family support). Meanwhile, the partial influence on both groups showed that not all p<0.05 meant that only a few independent variables had a significant effect on the dependent variable. Conclusion: Health literacy using “RUANG LAKSAMANA” has a significant effect on improving knowledge, perception, attitude, self-efficacy, practice, stigma and family support.
