Abstract (Abstrak)
DIAN TIARA PUTRI. Exclusive breastfeeding behavior in the working area of the Bulli Health Center, Palu City, Central Sulawesi. (supervised by Sudirman Nasir and Shanti Riskiyani).
Background. The greatest factor influencing a child's survival, development, and growth is acknowledged to be exclusive breastfeeding. Multiple causes have prevented exclusive breastfeeding, according to research from Puskesmas Bulili in Palu City, Central Sulawesi. Aim. The aim of this study is to investigate the social support system, personal resources, community and organizational support, and mothers' physical, mental, and social health. Method. Qualitative research with a phenomenological study approach, using thematic analysis, involving 21 informants including 10 breastfeeding mothers, 10 family members, and 1 health worker was conducted in the Working Area of the Bulili Health Center, Palu City, Central Sulawesi. Result. Studies indicate that there is still a need to address the issues of low family social support, a lack of individual resources for information about the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, and the crucial role and neglect of husbands, particularly during stressful times. The first step to successfully enhancing the practice of exclusive breastfeeding at the Bulil Health Center is for the Puskesmas to use posyandu to raise awareness, social support, and the role of various parties. Conclusion. The importance of social support, individual resources, and the role of organizations in improving exclusive breastfeeding practices.
