Abstract (Abstrak)
Work engagement, which is a concept that can reflect an individual’s passion, focus, and strong dedication to work at the company, is one of the most important factors for an individual to have at work. Work engagement is also defined as a positive and fulfilling mental state associated with work, characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption (Schaufeli et al. 2002). Work engagement is when an HR is able to make their work as a priority for themselves and personally for the organization. Work engagement is also personal HR who are proud to have been a part of an organization so that they can work according to the jobdesk given to them. The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of Work Engagement on Job Satisfaction and HR Performance at the Regional Hospital of South Sulawesi Province.
This was a quantitative study that applied an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional study approach. Sample of this study was 316 people obtained from a stratified random sample of health workers. This study included 152 employees from Laburan Baji Hospital, 122 from Haji Hospital, and 42 from Sayang Rakyat Hospital. The data was analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and path analysis.
The findings of this study found that work engagement had a direct effect on job satisfaction and HR performance, with coefficients of 0.525 and 0.267, respectively, and a p value of (0.000) < 0.05 (significant). Furthermore, job satisfaction had a direct effect on HR performance, with a coefficient value of 0.620 and a p value of (0.000) < 0.05. Meanwhile, the effect of work engagement on HR performance through job satisfaction obtained a coefficient value of 0.326 with a p value of (0.000) < 0.05, indicating that Work Engagement had an impact on HR Performance through Job Satisfaction.
