Abstract (Abstrak)
Andi Nurul Annisa Yudha. The Effect of Storytelling in Shaping Social Behavior Among Students at UPT SPF Elementary School Barabaraya 1 (supervised by Rahmat Muhammad and Sawedi Muhammad). Social behavior is an action shown by individuals in interacting with other people in society, reflecting their feelings, attitudes, beliefs, and values. This behavior functions as a form of interdependence in social life, which arises instinctively because of the need to interact. The socialization process is key in shaping social behavior, where individuals learn to understand social values and norms through interaction with the environment. This study aims to explore the influence of fairy tale programs on the development of social behavior of elementary school students. By exploring how storytelling can internalize moral and social values, this study is expected to provide insight into the effectiveness of storytelling as a character education tool. This research uses a qualitative experiment with a sociological approach to observe changes in student behavior, through in-depth interviews and observations. The results showed positive changes in students' social behavior after participating in the storytelling program. Students became more cooperative, empathic and responsible in their interactions with peers. They showed improvement in social awareness, such as the ability to cooperate and be active in the group. The storytelling delivered interactively by the storyteller created an emotional bond, encouraging students to more easily identify the positive values in the story. In conclusion, storytelling plays a significant role in shaping positive social behaviors, making it an effective method for student character development in primary schools.
