Abstract (Abstrak)

Background: Based on data from WHO, the prevalence of pre-eclampsia cases in developing countries is 1.8% -18%. It is estimated that pre-eclampsia contributes to 70,000 maternal deaths annually in the world. Pre-eclampsia is the leading cause of maternal death in Indonesia with the percentage of pre-eclampsia cases causing death in Indonesia being 33%. In 2010, the Public Health Sector reported that the number of maternal deaths in South Sulawesi province was 121 people, of which 28 people (1.65%) were caused by pre-eclampsia. Based on this, the author is interested in conducting research entitled "Factors Associated with Pre-Eclampsia in Pregnant Women at RS Pendidikan Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar for the Period of January 2022-December 2022".
Objective: To obtain the risk factors associated with the occurrence of severe pre-eclampsia in pregnant women at Hasanuddin University Makassar Teaching Hospital for the period January 2022-December 2022
Method: This study used a retrospective descriptive research design. The samples were taken using total sampling of 33 cases.
Result: The number of pre-eclampsia patients based on multiple pregnancies was 3.03%. Based on maternal age at risk was 39.39%, family history of pre-eclampsia was 3.03%, multipara by a new partner was 6.06%, multipara with a distance of > 10 years was 6.06%, nullipara was 33, 33%. Based on obesity was 39.39%, chronic hypertension was 48.48%, previous history of pre-eclampsia was 15.15%, and diabetes in pregnancy was 3.03%.
Conclusion : Risk factors for pre-eclampsia in pregnant women at RS Pendidikan Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar for the period of January 2022-December 2022 obtained in the study include multiple pregnancies, maternal age, family history of pre-eclampsia, multipara by a new partner, multipara with a distance of > 10 years, nullipara, obesity, chronic hypertension, previous history of pre-eclampsia, and diabetes in pregnancy
