Abstract (Abstrak)

Superintensive vaname shrimp farming relies heavily on pellets as a feed source, reaching 60%-70% with only about 25-30% of the nutrients from the feed being absorbed by the shrimp in intensive farming. The remaining feed causes sediment residue in the form of organic (protein, carbohydrate, fat) and inorganic (mud particles) components. Total Organic Matter (TOM) is the total organic matter content of a body of water consisting of dissolved, suspended (particulate) and colloidal organic matter. The purpose of this study is to provide information to the public and government related to organic matter contamination of waters in Punaga Village, Takalar Regency. This research uses One way anova statistical test method, Smallest Real Difference Test (BNT/LSD), Pearson correlation, and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The concentration of sediment organic matter in water locations near ponds and tourism is higher than other locations. The concentration obtained is still in the low category compared to other studies with values ranging from 10.48 - 15.45% and the highest average of 15.17%. The distribution pattern of dissolved organic matter (BOT) is concentrated in coastal areas, and is still centered around the disposal of super-intensive pond waste.
