Abstract (Abstrak)
This research aims to explore the features of blended learning, how the blended learning implemented and also how the students perceive about blended learning in speaking class at Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo. This study uses a qualitative method. The data analysis techniques used are 4 stages: 1)data collection, 2)data reduction, 3)data display, and 4) drawing conclusion. This research was conducted in the 5th-semester of English Education at Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo. There were 3 research results obtained, that are the features of blended learning in the 5th semester English speaking class for students at Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo which was carried out using a combination of offline and online learning. Aside from that, blended learning also uses technology and internet networks as learning media. In the implementation of blended learning, offline classes took place as usual, while in online classes the media used for learning was carried out through several platforms agreed such as Google Classroom, Zoom Meeting, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp. Blended learning aims to increase understanding to improve students’ learning outcomes. The constraints of implementing the blended learning model in the 5th-semester of English Education at Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo such as network problems and the technology used by students. All the blended learning lessons implemented at Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo can intensify the understanding of learning in speaking classes. This is because blended learning is a learning model that combines direct with indirect learning so that it involves students’ interaction so that it can practice students’ focus. This intensified focus was able to improve the quality of student learning
