Abstract (Abstrak)

Landslide disasters have occurred frequently in Indonesia, including in the Biang Loe watershed, Bantaeng Regency, especially during the rainy season. Landslide disasters often cause changes, before and after landslide changes in the Biang Loe watershed are not yet known. This research aims to examine the type of vegetation and physical properties of the soil in the landslide area and the area around the landslide. Apart from that, this research also aims to compare the conditions before the landslide which was marked in the area around the landslide and the area where the landslide was. This research is divided into four stages, namely: 1) identifying landslides using Google Earth, 2) carrying out validation, identifying vegetation using measurement plots while taking soil samples in the field, 3) testing the physical properties of the soil samples that have been taken and finally 4) carry out data analysis, the analysis carried out is the physical properties of the soil which consist of soil texture, soil permeability and soil organic matter. In the former landslide area, there are various types of vegetation that dominate each landslide point. Clove, teak, white teak, coffee, calliandra, avocado and mahogany plants. The soil texture at the landslide site is dominated by dusty clayey soil, the soil porosity is in the poor category, the soil permeability is in the medium category and the organic matter content is in the low classification. Meanwhile, the soil texture at the location around the landslide is included in the dusty clay category, some soil porosity is in the good category, the average soil permeability value is in the rather slow category and the organic matter content is in the medium classification. Landslide-affected areas tend to have lower vegetation density than surrounding areas. Apart from that, the physical properties of the soil in the area around the landslide are generally better than the area where the landslide occurred.
