Abstract (Abstrak)

Introduction: Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) is a noninvasive imaging technique and its utility as diagnostic modalities to the ocular surface tumor. This study aimed for evaluate the suitability of AS-OCT towards histopathological examination as a diagnostic test on ocular surface tumor.
Methods: Twenty- one eyes of 21 patients with 9 OSSN, 5 pterigium, 3 Dermoid tumor, 1 conjunctival dermolipoma 1 Epidermoid tumor, 1 nevus, 1 chronic inflammation/abcess were imaged using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography. Excisional or incisional biopsy was performed and histopathologic speciments analyzed with OCT findings.
Results: AS-OCT findings were paralled with histopathological examination from all various lessions 71,42 % (n=15). Epithelial thickening, hiper-reflectivity and abrupt transition showed in all OSSN lessions (100%, n=9). Sensitivity and specificity 100 % each subsequently also showed in Nevus, Epidermoid tumor and dermoid tumor, dermolipoma conjunctiva, and chronic inflammation/abcess.
Conclusion: Well-Correlated findings showed in AS-OCT towards histopathological examination making it as a promising tools in diagnostic ocular surface tumor.
