Abstract (Abstrak)

ABSTRACT
Jusmiani. R011191138. ASSESSMENT OF AUDIOVISUAL EDUCATIONAL MEDIA QUALITY FOR PREGNANT WOMEN IN INDONESIA USING THE PATIENT EDUCATION MATERIALS ASSESSMENT TOOL (PEMAT), supervised by Kusrini S Kadar and Nurhaya Nurdin.
Background: Health education is a strategy in preventing maternal mortality, where audiovisual media serves as a tool for pregnant women to receive health education. Many audiovisual health education media are found by pregnant women on YouTube as information sources, yet the quality and standardization of these videos remain inconsistent.
Research Objective: To evaluate audiovisual health education media sources used by pregnant women in Indonesia.
Methodology: This quantitative research employed a descriptive study design with a cross-sectional approach. Health education media were searched on YouTube using 8 keywords and manually on 3 channels of the Indonesian Ministry of Health and 37 Health Departments. Quality assessment utilized the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool (PEMAT) by 5 assessors.
Findings: The study evaluated 10 videos. Based on PEMAT AV assessment, 4 videos had average scores surpassing the understandability standard, while 2 videos surpassed the actionability standard.
Conclusion and Recommendations: Videos evaluated spanned from 2020 to 2023 with varying views, likes, duration, and sources. Despite the widespread dissemination of health education media, standardization remains lacking. Healthcare providers and content creators are urged to review information validity before distribution. Educational institutions are encouraged to develop an assessment tool specific to Indonesia for evaluating educational media.
Keywords: Pregnant Women, Audiovisual Educational Media, PEMAT.
