Abstract (Abstrak)
Broiler has an important role in supplying white meat in Indonesia. However, the development of broiler farms has a positive and negative impact on the communities around the farms. This study was aimed to determine the impact of broiler farms on the community socio-economics. This research was conducted in 2020. The type of research was quantitative descriptive. The sample in the study was 67 people who came from 2 villages: Kalibong village and Polewali village, Bone regency. The sample was chosen purposively. Data were collected by observation and in-depth-interview using a questionnaire. Socio-economic variables were measured from community cooperation, compensation, and benefits from the existence of broiler farms around their house. Likert scale was used to score the impact of broiler farms on the community socio-economics ranging from 1 until 3, which referred to 1 for disagree, 2 for neutral and 3 for agree. The data were analyzed descriptively using mean and percentage. The results of this study revealed that based on socio-economics aspects, the communities around broiler farms disagree.
