Mila Karmila/D311 16 013. ” STUDI PREDIKSI TAHANAN SEMI PLANING HULL DENGAN BENTUK STEPPED MELALUI PENGUJIAN MODEL”. (Dibimbing oleh Suandar Baso dan Rosmani)
Dewasa ini, trend desain kapal cepat mengalami perubahan atau modifikasi guna mendapatkan desain kapal yang menjamin performa dan keselamatan saat berlayar di lautan, salah satunya pada modifikasi hull. Salah satu cara pada modifikasi hull ialah penambahan bentuk stepped hull. Prinsip dari penggunaaan stepped hull adalah mengurangi permukaan basah (weted surface area) karena timbulnya turbulensi dibawah badan kapal. Desain bentuk stepped pada awalnya didasarkan pada fitur geomentri 2D (dimensi) yaitu bentuk V dan W dan geometri segmen 2 Dimensi yaitu bentuk U dan 2-U. Luas penampang setiap stepped V, U, W, dan 2-U adalah sama yaitu sekitar 4,1899 m2. Dengan tujuan mengetahui perubahan nilai tahanan yang terjadi pada masing masing kondisi trim dan mengetahui besar nilai tahanan model kapal semi planing hull menggunakan bentuk stepped berdasarkan eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui eksperimen yang dilakukan dilabo Hidrodinamika kapal. Berdasarkan hasil eksperiment dapat diketahui bagaimana pengaruh kenaikan trim dan hubungannya dengan tahanan kapal cepat dengan menggukan desain bentuk stepped V, U, W, dan 2-U pada setiap kecepatan yang berbeda. Dimana hasilnya adalah nilai tahanan model kapal 1 stepped V, U, W dan 2-U yang terbesar terjadi pada kondisi trim 2° dengan rata-rata Froude Number volume 1,5 sampai dengan 2,5 sebesar 0,147% sedangkan pada kondisi trim 3° dengan rata-rata Froude Number volume 2,5 sampai dengan 3,5 mengalami penurunan sebesar 0,04%. Dan untuk model kapal 1 stepped dengan bentuk W lebih kecil dibandingkan bentuk stepped V, U dan 2-U berdasarkan Froude Number volume. Dimana pada rata-rata Froude Number volume 2,5 sampai dengan 3,5 mengalami penurunan akibat perubahan luas bidang basah yang semakin kecil karena kecepatan tinggi dan kondisi trim yang besar.Sehingga dapat disimpulkan semakin besar kondisi trim akibat kecepatan tinggi maka nilai tahanan kapal berkurang karena pengurangan luas bidang basah kapal.

Nowadays, the trend of ship design is undergoing changes or modifications in order to get a ship design that guarantees performance and safety while sailing in the oceans, one of which is the modification of the ship’s hull. One way to modify the hull is the addition of a stepped hull. The principle of using the stepped hull is to reduce the wetted surface area due to turbulence under the hull. Initially, the stepped shape design was based on 2D geometric features (dimensions), namely the V and W shape, and 2-dimensional segment geometry, namely the U and 2-U shapes. The cross-sectional area of each stepped V, U, W, and 2-U is the same, which is about 4.1899 m2. With the aim of knowing the changes in the value of ship resistance that occur at each trim condition and knowing the resistance value of semi planing hull ship model using the stepped form based on experiments. This research was conducted through experiments in the ship hydrodynamics lab. Based on the experimental results, it can be known how the effect of the increase in trim and its relationship with the ship resistance by using the V, U, W, and 2-U stepped shape designs at each different speed. Where the result is the value of 1 stepped ship model resistance V, U, W, and 2-U, the largest occurs in 2 ° trim conditions with an average Froude Number volume of 1.5 to 2.5 of 0.147% while in 3 ° trim conditions. with an average Froude Number volume of 2.5 to 3.5 experiencing a decrease of 0.04%. And for the 1 stepped ship model with the W shape is smaller than the V, U, and 2-U stepped shapes based on the volume Froude Number. Where the average Froude Number volume from 2.5 to 3.5 has decreased due to changes in the wetted surface area which is getting smaller due to high speed and large trim conditions. So that it can be concluded that the greater the trim condition due to high speed, the value of ship resistance decreases due to the reduction in the wetted surface area of the ship.
