Abstract (Abstrak)

ABSTRAK (Bahasa Indonesia)
Maria Erni Wati Gelu Ola. R011181728. FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING DAN GIZI KURANG PADA BALITA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS BUSALANGGA KABUPATEN ROTE NDAO, dibimbing oleh Syahrul Said dan Andi Fajrin Permana.
Latar belakang: Stunting dan gizi kurang merupakan masalah gizi yang terjadi pada balita yang disebabkan oleh banyak faktor.

Tujuan: Mengetahui faktor penyebab stunting dan gizi kurang pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Busalangga.

Metode: Desain penelitian: cross-sectional, jumlah sampel: 293 balita, teknik sampling: stratified random sampling, Continuity Correction dan Pearson Chi-Square untuk mengetahui hubungan antar variabel.

Hasil: Faktor berhubungan dengan stunting dan gizi kurang: usia ibu saat kehamilan pertama (p=0,000), berat badan lahir balita (p=0,000), ASI eksklusif (p=0,000), usia pemberian MPASI (p=0,000), jenis MPASI (p=0,000), tekstur MPASI (0,000), riwayat penyakit infeksi balita (p=0,000) dan perilaku ibu (p=0,000). Faktor hanya berhubungan dengan gizi kurang: pendidikan terakhir ibu (p=0,003), gangguan kesehatan saat hamil (p=0,003), riwayat inisiasi menyusui dini (p=0,001), kolostrum (p=0,024).

Kesimpulan dan Saran: Faktor berhubungan dengan kejadian stunting dan gizi kurang: usia ibu saat kehamilan pertama, berat badan lahir balita, jenis makanan atau minuman pengganti ASI saat awal menyusui, ASI eksklusif, jenis MPASI, tekstur MPASI, riwayat penyakit infeksi balita dan perilaku ibu mencuci tangan. Faktor berhubungan dengan gizi kurang: pendidikan terakhir ibu, gangguan kesehatan saat hamil, riwayat inisiasi menyusui dini, kolostrum, dan riwayat pemberian makanan atau minuman pengganti ASI di awal menyusui. Untuk perawat puskesmas: tingkatkan program pencegahan stunting dengan kejasama lintas sektoral.

Background: Stunting and underweight were nutrition problem in children under five which is caused by multiple factors.
Objective: This study aimed to know factors related to stunting and underweight among children under five in working area of public health center of Busalangga.
Method: This cross-sectional study involved 293 chidren under-five, sampled technique with stratified random sampling. Continuity Correction and Pearson Chi-Square were used to analyse the relationship between variables.
Result: Factors related to stunting and underweight: age of mother when first pregnancy (p:0,000), birth weight (p:0,000), exclusive breastfeeding (p:0,000), aged to introduce complementary feeding (p:0,000), type and textures of first complementary feeding (p:0,000), toddlers with history of infectious diseases (p:0,000), and mother’s behaviour {hand washing} (p:0,000). Factors just related to underweight: maternal education (p:0,003), health problems during pregnancy (p:0,003), early initiation of breastfeeding (p:0,001), colostrum (p:0,024)
Conclusion and suggestions: Factors related to stunting and underweight: age of mother when first pregnancy, birth weight, exclusive breastfeeding, aged to introduce complementary feeding, type and textures of first complementary feeding, toddlers with history of infectious diseases, and mother’s behaviour (hand washing). Factors just related to underweight: maternal education, health problems during pregnancy, early initiation of breastfeeding and colostrum. Therefore, health workers in the future need to be concerned to improve the program about prevention stunting and underweight.
