Hubungan Ekspresi mRNA Cyclin Dependent Kinase 1 (CDK1), Cyclin Dependent Kinase 4 (CDK4), dan Cyclin B dengan Derajat Meningioma

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between CDK 1, CDK
4 and cyclin B, mRNA expression with the grade of meningioma. Meningiomas are the most common primary tumors of the central nervous system (CNS) which account for one-third or 36.4% of all CNS tumors. Although the incidence of meningiomas is quite high, the mechanism of tumorigenesis, as well as the factors that influence the cause of its progression are still unknown. Cell cycle pathways of interest to researchers are based on the condition that uncontrolled proliferation plays a key role in the initiation and development of cancer.
Methods: A real-time reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR) assay was used to quantitate mRNA expression of CDK 1, CDK 4 and Cyclin B using fresh tumors sample meningioma diagnosed from Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining were analyzed. For data analysis, samples were used for meningiomas grade 1, 2 and 3 respectively 35, 34 and 26 samples.
The results showed that the age of meningioma patients was in the range of 38-70 years with an average age of 52.5 years. The incidence of meningiomas increases with age. Cases in women were found to be 71.6% or three times more than in men. We demonstrate that CDK 1, CDK 4 and cyclin Cyclin B mRNA expression are positively correlated with meningioma grade (sig. (2 tailed) < 0,01). Spearman’s test correlation result: CDK 1: 0,516, CDK 4: 0,384, and Cyclin B : 0,484. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis test for expression of CDK1, CDK4, and Cyclin B with the grade of meningioma showed Asymp. Sig<0.05
