Abstract (Abstrak)

Bladder stones in tortoises are a common urinary system disorder resulting from improper husbandry, particularly regarding hydration and nutrition. This case report describes the diagnosis and management of a bladder stone via transplastron coeliotomy in an 8-year-old female Sulcata tortoise weighing 17.2 kg, treated at the Exotic Jogja Veterinary Clinic. Clinical history revealed reduced activity, anorexia, a lack of defecation for two weeks, an absence of urate excretion, and straining behavior. Radiographic examination in the ventrodorsal view revealed a radiopaque mass approximately 9 cm in diameter within the urinary bladder. A diagnosis of bladder stone was confirmed, with a favorable prognosis following surgical intervention. Treatment was performed via transplastron coeliotomy, involving plastron osteotomy, incision of the coelomic membrane, *in situ* cystotomy, calculus removal, and layered closure of the urinary bladder and coelomic membrane. The patient exhibited a good recovery from anesthesia and received postoperative care consisting of antibiotics, analgesics, and supportive therapy. In conclusion, the patient (named Silvi) underwent treatment for seven days and showed gradual improvement.
