The Effect of Aloe Vera, Zinc and Alginate Based Wound Care on Breast Cancer Wounds on Changes in Collagen III Levels as an Indicator of Wound Healing at the Unhas Teaching Hospital (Guided by Takdir Tahir and Andina Setyawati) Introduction: Advanced breast cancer wounds disrupt the quality of life of patients, therefore optimal healing is needed. Collagen III is important in tissue regeneration in wound healing. Aloe vera, zinc and alginate are known to have the potential to accelerate healing through collagen stimulation. Objectives: Study This aims to determine the effect of wound care based on aloe vera, zinc and alginate on breast cancer wounds on changes in collagen III levels as an indicator of wound healing. Method: The study used a quasi-experimental approach with pre-test design, post test control group design. Sampling using simple random sampling techniques with a sample of 39 breast cancer wound patients shared into two groups that are intervention group 20 people, control group 19 people. The intervention group was given wound care with aloe vera, zinc and alginate, the control group with framisetin sulfate. Each group was given wound care 4 times with a 3-day interval. Collagen III level examination was conducted at the 1st and 4th meetings. Results : Breast cancer wound care carried out for 12 days was able to increase collagen III levels but not significantly before and after wound care. However, clinically there are changes in wound repair which are visible on the Bates Jansen wound assessment tool. Conclusion: Breast cancer wound care for 12 days based on aloe vera, zinc and alginate can help the wound healing process as evidenced by an increase in the average levels of collagen III.
