Abstract (Abstrak)

RISMA, The Effect of Feeding Schedule on Survival and Growth of Freshwater Lobster (C. quadricarinatus) (supervised by Muhammad Yusri Karim). Background. Freshwater lobster (C.quadricarinatus), commonly known as red claw, is a type of freshwater shrimp that originates from Queensland, Australia. Freshwater lobsters are a type of crustacean that have great potential for development in South Sulawesi, which has a sufficiently large freshwater area. Objective. This research aims to determine the optimal feeding schedule to achieve the best survival and growth of freshwater lobster larvae (C. quadricarinatus). Method. This research was conducted from December 2024 to January 2025 at the Freshwater Lobster Breeding Unit Bumi Paccerakang Sejahtera, Paccelekang Village, Patalassang District, Gowa Regency. The test animals used were freshwater lobster larvae (C.quadricarinatus) that were 5 days old after hatching. Each research container was stocked with 50 freshwater lobster larvae and maintained for 30 days. This research was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments, with each treatment having 3 replications. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Since there is a significant effect, it was followed by the W-Tuckey post hoc test. Results. The results of this study indicate that differences in feeding schedules have a very significant effect (p < 0.01) on the survival of freshwater lobster larvae. Furthermore, the results of the W-Tuckey test showed that the feeding schedules A and B were not significantly different (p < 0.05) but were significantly different from schedules C and D (p < 0.05). And the difference in feeding schedules had a very significant effect on the daily specific growth rate of freshwater lobster (C. quadricarinatus). Furthermore, the results of the W-Tukey post-hoc test showed that schedule A differed significantly (p < 0.05) from all treatments.
