Abstract (Abstrak)

HASMAN. Dynamics and Population Structures of Bali Cattle of Maiwa Breeding Center (MBC) Partnership in Barru Regency. (Supervised by Sudirman Baco and Zulkharnaim)
This study aimed to determine the dynamics, structure and the increased of Bali Cattle population of Maiwa Breeding Center partnership in Barru Regency. This study was conducted in March to April 2020 in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi. The study was used descriptive method with survey which was a study that described and outlied the variable conditions of calving rate, mortality rate, sales, purchasing and population structures of Maiwa Breeding Center (MBC) partnership for the last three years. The collection of population data and the structure of the population was carried out in 2 stages. The first stage was to collect the secondary data the obtained from the Maiwa Breeding Center (MBC) manager. The second stage sas to collect the primary data, which was then tabulated and analyzed. The results showed that the reproductive efficiency of ix

Bali cattle was 91%. Availability of net replacement rate (NRR) of male cattle 41 heads and females cattle was 61 heads. The dynamics of population was only affected by calving, mortality and selling, with growth rate 27% (2019) and 31% (2020) respectively. The population structure of Bali cattle was dominated by cows at, 31% (2018), 48% (2019) and 54% (2020). Natural Increase (NI) of Bali cattle was 17% (2018), 28% (2019) and 20% (2020) respectively. Projected population growth in 2020 to 2025 according to arithmetic method showed growth reached at 69% while based on population structure reached at 59%. In conclusion in order to increase the population growth of Bali cattle, it is necssary to pay attention and supporting by the relevant parties in determining policies and improving maintenance management patterns by farmers.
