Abstract (Abstrak)

This study aims to identify the influence of family relationships on the development of the main character in the novel A Wrinkle in Time and to determine the forms of family support that contribute to the main character’s coping strategies in facing problems. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, applying a structuralist approach that focuses on intrinsic elements including character, setting, theme, and plot. The results indicate that family bonds and social support play a crucial role in shaping the protagonist’s coping strategies and personal growth. The findings indicate that the protagonist, Meg Murry, undergoes significant character development, transforming from an insecure and emotionally unstable individual into a brave and resilient person. This transformation is heavily influenced by family bonds and social support. The novel emphasizes that emotional strength, love, and supportive relationships are vital in overcoming challenges, making it relevant not only as a literary work but also as a reflection of human experiences in real life.
