Abstract (Abstrak)
ITA VERSI. Implementasi ICT dalam Pembelajaran Speaking EFL: Studi Kasus di Fakultas Sastra Universitas Muslim Indonesia (dibimbing oleh Nasmilah dan Sukmawaty) Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi Information and Communication Technology (ICT) dalam pengajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris di Fakultas Sastra Universitas Muslim Indonesia, sekaligus meneliti persepsi dosen dan mahasiswa terhadap penggunaannya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif yang berlandaskan teori pembelajaran konstruktivis John Dewey, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara terstruktur, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan satu orang dosen dan tujuh mahasiswa pada tahun akademik 2024–2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, pertama, bahwa implementasi ICT dalam kelas speaking EFL dilakukan secara sistematis dan terarah melalui pemanfaatan sumber daya multimedia, pembelajaran berbasis video, platform e-learning, serta aplikasi interaktif. Penggunaan teknologi ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pelengkap, tetapi juga sebagai komponen utama dalam proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan praktik berbicara dan interaktivitas kelas. Kedua, penelitian menemukan bahwa baik dosen maupun mahasiswa secara umum memiliki persepsi positif terhadap ICT. Dosen memandang ICT sebagai alat pedagogis yang esensial untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan mahasiswa dan menyesuaikan diri dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran modern, meskipun ia juga menyoroti tantangan teknis seperti koneksi internet yang tidak stabil. Mahasiswa menilai ICT membantu meningkatkan motivasi, fleksibilitas, dan pemahaman, meskipun sebagian masih lebih menyukai pendekatan blended learning yang memadukan teknologi digital dengan interaksi tatap muka. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ICT, apabila diintegrasikan sesuai dengan prinsip konstruktivisme dan dipadukan dengan interaksi langsung, dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam pengembangan kompetensi komunikatif mahasiswa di kelas speaking EFL. The Implementation of ICT in EFL Speaking Class: A Case Study at Faculty of Letters Indonesia Muslim University, Indonesia (supervised by Nasmilah and Sukmawaty) This study explores the implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching English speaking within the Faculty of Letters, Indonesia Muslim University, and investigates both lecturer and students’ perceptions of its use. Using a qualitative case study approach grounded in Dewey’s constructivist learning theory, data were collected through classroom observation, structured interviews, and documentation involving one lecturer and seven students during the 2024–2025 academic year. The findings reveal, first, that the implementation of ICT in the EFL speaking classroom was systematic and purposeful, involving the use of multimedia resources, video-based instruction, e- learning platforms, and interactive applications. These tools were integrated not merely as supplementary aids but as essential components of the instructional process to enhance speaking practice and classroom interactivity. Second, the study found that both the lecturer and students generally perceived ICT positively. The lecturer regarded ICT as a necessary pedagogical tool to engage students and adapt to modern learning needs, although she also highlighted technical challenges such as unstable internet connections. Students valued ICT for increasing motivation, flexibility, and comprehension, though some still preferred blended approaches that combine digital tools with face-to-face interaction. Overall, this study concludes that ICT, when aligned with constructivist principles and combined with direct interaction, significantly contributes to the development of communicative competence in EFL speaking classrooms.
