IDENTIFIKASI EHP (Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei) PADA UDANG VANAME (Litopenaeus vannamei) MENGGUNAKAN METODE PCR DAN HISTOPATOLOGI DI BALAI BESAR KARANTINA HEWAN IKAN DAN TUMBUHAN SULAWESI SELATAN = IDENTIFICATION OF EHP (Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei) IN VANAME SHRIMP (Litopenaeus vannamei) USING PCR AND HISTOPATHOLOGY METHOD AT THE ANIMAL, FISH, AND PLANT QUARANTINE AGENCY IN SOUTH SULAWESI

Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) merupakan mikrosporidia intraseluler obligat yang menginfeksi sel epitel hepatopankreas udang penaeid seperti Penaeus monodon dan Litopenaeus vannamei. Parasit ini menyebabkan gangguan pertumbuhan (growth retardation) tanpa menimbulkan kematian massal, namun berdampak besar terhadap produktivitas tambak udang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan EHP pada udang vaname menggunakan metode Histopatologi dan PCR. Pemeriksaan dilakukan di BBKHIT Sulawesi Selatan. Pemeriksaan Histopatologi dilakukan dengan pewarnaan Hematoxylin-Eosin (H&E) untuk mengamati struktur jaringan hepatopankreas, sedangkan PCR dilakukan menggunakan IQ2000™ EHP Detection and Prevention System. Hasil pemeriksaan Histopatologi dan PCR menunjukkan sampel positif terinfeksi EHP. Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) is an obligate intracellular microsporidia that infects the hepatopancreatic epithelial cells of penaeid shrimp such as Penaeus monodon and Litopenaeus vannamei. This parasite causes growth retardation without causing mass mortality, but has a significant impact on shrimp pond productivity. This study aims to identify the presence of EHP in whiteleg shrimp using histopathology and PCR methods. The examination was conducted at BBKHIT South Sulawesi. Histopathology examination was performed using Hematoxylin-Eosin (H&E) staining to observe the structure of hepatopancreatic tissue, while PCR was performed using the IQ2000™ EHP Detection and Prevention System. The results of histopathology and PCR examinations showed the sample was positive for EHP infection
