Abstract (Abstrak)

ABSTRACT Syahril Masri. The Influence of Intangible Assets on the Competitiveness of MSE Actors through Business Innovation Mediation (Study in Tanete Riattang District, Bone Regency) (Supenised by Muhammad Idrus Taba and Wardhani Hakim). Background. MSMEs have a very important role in the Indonesian economy as the backbone of the national economy. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of intangible assets on the competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in Tanete Riattang District, Bone Regency, with business innovation as a mediating variable. Intangible assets in this study consist of three main components, namely intellectual capital, social capital, and psychological capital. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis technique using SmartPLS software, which is analyzed based on primary data obtained from 150 respondents of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in the culinary sector in Tanete Riattang District, Bone Regency. The results of the study show that intellectual capital and social capital significantly affect business innovation and competitiveness, both directly and indirectly. Psychological capital has a significant effect on business innovation, but it does not have a direct effect on the competitiveness of MSEs, except through the role of business innovation mediation. Business innovation has proven to be a strong mediating variable, strengthening the relationship between the three types of intangible capital and the competitiveness of MSE actors. This research emphasizes the importance of empowering non-financial resources in increasing the competitiveness of MSEs, especially in the face of increasingly fierce competition challenges and dynamic market changes. These findings also make a theoretical contribution to the development of the Resource-Based View (RBV) framework by emphasizing the strategic role of intellectual, social, and psychological capital, as well as practical contributions for MSEs and stakeholders to strengthen innovation as the key to sustainability and competitive advantage.
