Abstract (Abstrak)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keragaman genetik pohon Uru (Elmerrillia ovalis) yang tumbuh di Kabupaten Tana Toraja berdasarkan karakter morfologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif, melalui pengamatan terhadap morfologi daun, batang, kulit, akar, buah, serta tampilan tajuk pada lima plot sampel. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengukuran dimensi morfologi dan pewarnaan berdasarkan buku Munsell Plant Tissue Color. Analisis data meliputi perhitungan rata-rata, kadar air, berat jenis, volume pohon, heritabilitas, dan visualisasi heatmap untuk mengidentifikasi klaster morfologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat variasi morfologi yang signifikan, baik secara kualitatif maupun kuantitatif. Nilai rata-rata heritabilitas sebesar 0,34 menunjukkan tingkat keragaman genetik yang tinggi antar individu dalam populasi. Analisis heatmap memperlihatkan adanya pembentukan empat klaster morfologi yang berbeda pada setiap plot. Faktor lingkungan seperti topografi dan kerapatan tegakan turut memengaruhi karakteristik morfologi dan pertumbuhan pohon Uru. Dari hasil ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pohon Elmerrillia ovalis di Tana Toraja memiliki keragaman genetik yang tinggi berdasarkan penanda morfologi, sehingga memiliki potensi penting untuk konservasi dan pengembangan sumber daya genetik lokal. This study aims to identify the genetic diversity of Uru trees (Elmerrillia ovalis) growing in Tana Toraja Regency based on morphological characteristics. The method used is a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach through observations of leaf, stem, bark, root, fruit morphology, as well as canopy appearance across five sample plots. Data collection was carried out by measuring morphological dimensions and color identification using the Munsell Plant Tissue Color book. Data analysis included calculations of means, moisture content, wood density, tree volume, heritability values, and heatmap visualizations to identify morphological clusters. The results showed significant morphological variation, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The average heritability value of 0.34 indicates a high level of genetic diversity among individuals in the population. Heatmap analysis revealed the formation of four distinct morphological clusters in the observed plots. Environmental factors such as topography and stand density also influenced the morphological characteristics and growth of Uru trees. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Elmerrillia ovalis in Tana Toraja has high genetic diversity based on morphological markers, indicating its significant potential for conservation and the development of local genetic resources.
