Nilai-nilai Edukasi untuk Generasi Muda dalam Novel The Old Man and The Sea karya Hemingway. = Educational Values for The Younger Generation in Hemingway’s The Old Man and The Sea.

This study aims to analyze educational values and examine the lessons that the younger generation can learned from Santiago’s struggles in Ernest Hemingway's novel The Old Man and The Sea. The story specifically highlights the importance of social relationships and support, as demonstrated by the character Manolin, in building mental health and helping to overcome various life challenges. This study employs a descriptive methodology, utilizing the literary work as its primary source of information. The analysis is further guided by a structuralism approach, focusing on intrinsic elements such as character, plot, setting, and theme. The results of this study show that through Santiago’s wisdom and Manolin’s emotional support, this novel provides a profound lesson about the importance of mental resilience in facing life’s challenges. In particular, this study emphasizes that the younger generation should realize that every support, including persistence, courage, and dedication to goals, can shape character and lead to meaningful achievements.
