Perlawanan Feminis dalam The Awakening Karya Chopin = Feminist Resistance in Chopin's The Awakening.

This research aims to analyze the conflicts and actions experienced by Edna Pontellier in Kate Chopin's The Awakening. The events in the story are analyzed specifically including the values and types of feminism contained in the actions, as well as Edna's struggle to be free from the social roles and expectations that bind her. This research uses a feminist approach, which focuses on how women are portrayed in literature and how they deal with the systems that limit them. The intrinsic elements analyzed include character, plot, setting, and theme. The main focus of this research is Edna Pontellier's struggle for freedom and how Edna's conflicts and actions reflect the characteristics of feminism. The research method used by the writer is descriptive qualitative method, by combining qualitative data collection techniques with in-depth descriptive analysis. The results of this study show that Edna Pontellier experiences internal conflicts in the form feelings of emptiness and trapped, alienation, and limitations in expressing herself, as well as external conflicts with her husband, society, Madame Ratignolle, and Robert. In her struggle, Edna managed to overcome these conflicts, both internal and external. Thus, through her struggle, Edna represents the characteristics of radical and liberal feminism.
