Analisis Tindak Tutur Ekspresif Dalam Film Toy Story 3 = An Analysis Of Expressive Speech Act in Toy Story 3 Movie

Nurul Sakinah. 2025. An Analysis of Expressive Speech Acts In Toy Story 3 Movie (Supervised by Abbas and M. Syafri Badaruddin) This thesis entitled “An Analysis of Expressive Speech Acts In Toy Story 3 Movie”. This study aims to identify the types of expressive speech acts found in the film Toy Story 3 and determine which speech acts are most frequently used in this film. This study uses Searle's theory (1976) which categories expressive speech acts into six parts, they are: Expressive of Thanking, Expressive of Apologizing, Expressive of Congratulating, Expressive of Greeting, Expressive of Wishing, Expressive of Attitude. The method used in data collection is observation, while the technique used is note taking. In analyzing the data, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method. From the data, it is found some utterances that containing kinds of expressive by Searle. The data of this study were taken from the utterances contained in the film. There are 47 expressive speech acts in the film consisting of 13 expressive of thanking, 3 expressive of apologizing, 8 expressive of congratulating, 11 expressive of greeting, 5 expressive of wishing, 7 expressive attitude. Based on expressive speech acts found in the study, expression of gratitude is the most frequently used in the film Toy Story 3.
