Abstract (Abstrak)

Marine aquatic substrates are biotic (such as corals and algae) and abiotic (such as sand and coral fragments). The geomorphic profile of coral reefs as a significant ecosystem can be mapped using LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology, echo sounders, and underwater cameras. The study aims to compare LIDAR and echosounder data in displaying the coral geomorphic profile and classify the benthic habitat of coral reefs on Kodingareng Lompo Island by integrating bathymetric data and geotagging photos. LIDAR photon data from the ICESat-2 satellite was used as secondary data to analyze the geomorphic profile of coral reefs at Kodingareng Lompo Island. This profile was validated with primary bathymetric data obtained from an echosounder. Underwater photos were taken to document the types of benthic habitats, which were then classified using geotagged images and analyzed with the help of CPCe software. The integration of LIDAR, echosounder and photo geotagging based on the results of statistical tests can provide a comprehensive picture of the geomorphic coral reef ecosystem on Kodingareng Lompo Island. Geomorphic types, including reef flat, reef crest and reef slope, were recognised. Abiotic components dominate the reef flat area and live corals with poor category conditions. Live corals with good category conditions dominate the reef slope area. LIDAR and echosounder data have a significant correlation in mapping bathymetry. The geomorphic profile of the coral reef of Kodingareng Lompo Island consists of reef flat, reef crest, and reef slope. The benthic habitat of the reef flat area consists of abiotic and live corals, while live corals dominate the benthic on the reef slope.
