Introversi Dalam Karya Green Looking for Alaska = Introvert in Green's Looking for Alaska

Afika Nuraprillia Dwi Putri 2024. Introvert in Green’s Looking for Alaska. (Supervised by Fathu Rahman and Abbas) This research discusses the introvert type of the main female character, namely Alaska Young, in the novel Looking for Alaska. This research also discusses the influence of past lives on the lives experienced by the main characters in the novel. This research uses a structuralism approach that focuses on the intrinsic elements of the novel to analyze the type of introvert and the influence of past life on Alaska Young. Intrinsic elements include character, setting, plot and theme to analyze the introverted nature of the main female character in the novel Looking for Alaska. This research data was processed qualitatively and the research results were displayed descriptively. Based on research data analysis, it was found that there are four types of introverts according to Carl Gustav Jung, namely: Introversion Thinking, Introversion Feeling, Introversion Sensing, Introversion Intuition. The character Alaska Young belongs to the Introverted Intuition type because Alaska Young embodies the introverted type of inspiration, characterized by a world of ideas, mystery, and melancholic emotions, making her an example of this ideal type in Jung's Typology. The influence of the main character Alaska Young's past life leaves behind past trauma that influences the protagonist's actions and character and also depicts Alaska Young as a character who is deeply influenced by the past, making it an exploration of fear, revenge, and sadness.
