Abstract (Abstrak)
ARSIANI GUSTIRANDA (B022202039), Legal Protection for Banks in Providing Prime Customer Services (guided by Hasbir Paserangi and Muhammad Ilham Arisaputra). This study aims to analyze and review the policy of providing Prime Customer Service to banking institutions in relation to minimizing the risk of banking crime, as well as to analyze and review the legal protection for banking institutions in providing Prime Customer Service against attempts at banking crime, both committed by their customers and carried out by unscrupulous employees of the bank itself. This type of research is empirical research which is located in Makassar City. The data used are primary data and secondary data with data collection techniques carried out by means of field research and library research. Primary and secondary data that have been systematically synchronized are then studied further based on existing legal theories in order to obtain a scientific formulation to answer the legal issues discussed in this legal research. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed qualitatively for further description. The results of the study show that the policy of providing Prime Customer Service to banking institutions in relation to efforts to minimize the risk of banking crime is implemented in the form of Prime Customer Service SOP which is accompanied by the Recognizing Customer SOP where this SOP is aimed at finding out the background of prime customers or priority customers owned by bank and at the same time to monitor the transactions made by the customer. Legal protection for banking institutions in providing Prime Customer Service against banking criminal acts, whether committed by their customers or by unscrupulous employees of the bank itself, has actually been reflected in existing laws and regulations. Legislation relating to Prime Customer Service is a means of preventive legal protection for banks. Internally, laws and regulations relating to Prime Customer Service are set forth in the form of SOPs so that they become guidelines for banks through their officers in implementing prime customer service to the public.
