Abstract (Abstrak)
SUSAN INTAN SARI PALANGAN. Test of The Effectiveness of The Work Between Menochilus sexmaculatus and Vegetable Pesticides Against Bemisia tabaci On Capsicum Annuum L. Var Chinensis. Supervisors: Itji Diana David and Tamrin Abdullah
Background Chili katokkon (C. annuum L. Var Chinensis) is a variety of chili plants typical of Tana Toraja. Its production is strongly affected by heavy rainfall and Bemisia tabaci attacks. The research objectives tested the predator's ability of Menochilus sexmaculatus to reduce the population of B. tabaci ticks and the toxicity of the active ingredient plant-based pesticide to kill B. tabaci ticks. Method As a treatment i.e. control, M. sexmaculatus and vegetable pesticides are distinguished by 4 different concentrations (25 ml, 50 ml, 75 ml and 100 ml). The research design used was a randomized group design with 3 treatments and 5 tests. The results showed that on observations of the first to fourth week, the population of B. tabaci decreased compared to the controls. The treatment of vegetable pesticides is less effective in suppressing B. tabaci. Conclusions An effective working test in this study was M. sexmaculatus which could reduce the number of B. tabaci populations in the fourth week of observations compared to vegetable pesticides.
