Abstract (Abstrak)

The “Lelaki Harimau” is a novel written by Eka Kurniawan, and first published in 2004. in 2017 it was translated into Chinese by 吴亚敏. This novel consists of 5 chapters that talk about the murder committed by Margio, because of the tiger inside his body. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. In the process of collecting data, this research uses library techniques by reviewing books, literature, notes, and various reports related to the problem to be solved. This study aims to find out what the forms of translation, syntactic, semantic and morphological errors in Eka Kurniawan's Lelaki Harimau Novel to examine translation errors, the theory of translation errors proposed by Norrish is used. And after the research, 11 data of semantic errors, 4 data of syntactic errors, and 3 data of morphological errors were found. Addition to examining translation errors, this study also examines translation errors and to analyze the translation errors, 18 theories proposed by Molina and Albir on translation techniques are used. Based on 18 translation techniques proposed by Molina and Albir, 7 translation techniques were found to be used, namely, borrowing, Established equivalence, amplification, reduction, discursive creation, description and generalization technique in translation. The results of the study found 6 data on the use of borrowing and description techniques, 3 data on the use of Established equivalence, amplification, generalization and reduction techniques, 2 data on the use of discursive creation techniques.
