Abstract (Abstrak)

Butini fish is an endemic fish species found in Lake Towuti that benefits the welfare of people around the lake for food and as a source of income. Sustainable management of butini fisheries is needed to optimize the benefits obtained from butini fish resources. The purpose of this study is to analyze the sustainability status of butini fish (Glossogobius matanensis) based on ecological dimensions, fishing technology, social and economic institutions and determine the leverage attributes that affect butini fish fisheries in Lake Towuti. Data analysis used was Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries Sustainability (RAPFISH). The results showed the sustainability index value of the ecological dimension of 66.56 (moderately sustainable), the fishing technology dimension of 43.73 (less sustainable), the sustainability index of the social institutional dimension of 38.60 (less sustainable), and the economic dimension of 61.81 (moderately sustainable). Leveraging factors in the ecological dimension include invasive fish with an RMS value of 11.46% and butini fish abundance of 8.13%, the fishing gear technology dimension includes fishing gear modification 10.30% and the use of destructive fishing gear 11.12%, the social institutional dimension includes fisheries management plans 3.53%, and fisheries conflicts 4.00%, while the economic dimension is the level of consumer demand 7.70% and marketing distribution 13.32%.
