Abstract (Abstrak)

Hastinawaty. The Relationship Between Clinical Status And Patient Satisfaction Level Of Fixed Bridge Partial Denture In Makassar City. (supervised by Ike Damayanti Habar and Moh.Dharmautama).

Background: Successful treatment with a fixed bridge partial denture (GTJ) depends on various factors that must be considered when planning treatment. These factors include the long-term durability of the restoration, both in structural and biological terms. Appropriate case selection, thorough diagnosis, careful preparation, and good denture construction are necessary to ensure the effectiveness, biological duration of the tissue restoration, and maintenance of the health of the teeth and supporting tissues. Changes that occur in the denture and periodontal tissues can affect the level of satisfaction of patients using GTJ. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the clinical status and satisfaction level of fixed bridge partial denture patients. Method: Using a cross sectional study design, where the target population in this study were patients who used fixed bridge partial dentures in the anterior or posterior region, the amount of tooth loss was 1-2 teeth treated at Unhas RSGMP and private clinics in Makassar city and were willing to be respondents. Furthermore, these patients were given questionnaires regarding comfort, mastication, phonetics and aesthetics and clinical examinations were carried out including supporting teeth, periodontal tissue status, oral hygiene status, denture status, retention, stability and aesthetics. Sample selection was done by purposive sampling. Results Fixed bridge partial denture patients in this study obtained clinical examination status results, namely good abutment tooth status (93.2%), good periodontal tissue status (84.1%), moderate oral hygiene status (38.6%), good denture status (72.7%), good retention (97.7%), good stability (97.7%) and good aesthetics (77.3%). Satisfaction level in terms of comfort 52.3%, mastication 86.4%, phonetics 97.7% and aesthetics 86.4%. The relationship between clinical examination status and level of satisfaction using the Spearman correlation test, obtained p <0.05, is 0.012. Conclusion: Fixed bridge partial denture patients in this study had a good clinical examination status in abutment teeth, periodontal tissue, denture teeth, stability and aesthetics, while oral hygiene had a moderate clinical status and in the assessment of subjective conditions had a high level of satisfaction in terms of comfort, mastication, phonetics and aesthetics. In general, statistical tests show that there is a relationship between clinical examination status and subjective condition assessment that affects the level of satisfaction in fixed bridge partial denture patients. The higher the clinical examination score, the greater the level of satisfaction.
