The aims of this research are: (1) to measure the comparative objectivity of reporting This type of research uses quantitative methods to study the content analysis of the Objectivity of Communication Reporting. The informants for this research are people who were determined using purposive sampling, that is, they were selected based on certain considerations that they were considered competent to answer the researcher's questions. Primary data was obtained through observations on online media news portals, namely Tribun Timurnews.com and Fajar.co.id, interviews with informants. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained through library studies in the form of books and journals related to the problem being studied. This research analyzes news with a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach using the Westertahl scheme analysis method quoted from McQuail (1992). In the research process, it shows that the objectivity of the reporting shows that there is a relationship between the hypotheses in the analysis of reporting regarding online mass media which discusses the winning of the empty column in the 2018 Makassar regional elections. The results of this research show that Tribun Timur.com and Fajar.co.id generally demonstrate and apply several principles of objectivity in reporting on the issue regarding winning the empty column in the 2018 Makassar Regional Election. This is based on the fulfillment of the objectivity aspect used by researchers and the fulfillment of the hypothesis in the research.
