GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN DOKTER FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS HASANUDDIN TERHADAP NYERI PUNGGUNG BAWAH (NPB) = THE DESCRIPTION OF KNOWLEDGE LEVEL ON STUDENTS OF FACULTY OF MEDICINE HASANUDDIN UNIVERSITY ON LOWER BACK PAIN (LBP)

Background: Low back pain is acute or chronic pain caused by sprains, strains, or shifts of the lumbar or sacral intervertebral discs. Low back pain is a common disease in society. Based on the results of previous studies, low back pain can occur from young adults to older ages. The Global Burden of Disease 2010 Study (GBD 2010) states that of the 291 diseases studied, LBP ranks highest as a cause of global disability. One of the social groups that are at high risk for getting this disease is the young adult age group and the medical student group. Therefore, the researcher considers that it is very necessary to know how the description of the knowledge of this vulnerable group towards low back pain.
Objective: To obtain information regarding the description of the level of knowledge of students of the medical education study program, Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University on low back pain
Methods: The type of research used is a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. The sample collection technique is simple random sampling, so that 293 respondents were obtained. Data was collected using a google form questionnaire and then analyzed with a statistical program.
Results: The results of this study showed that from 293 respondents the majority of them were 52 people (18%) had a good level of knowledge about low back pain, 124 people (42%) had a sufficient level of knowledge about low back pain, and 117 people (40%) had a low level of knowledge about low back pain.
Conclusion: The level of knowledge of medical education students at the Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University on low back pain in general is at a good or sufficient level of knowledge, but still some of the respondents are still at a low or poor level of knowledge related to low back pain.
