Abstract (Abstrak)
The transportation method is a method used in distributing goods from sources that provide the same goods to places that need them optimally, which is useful for expediting the distribution of goods and maximizing the allocation from sources to destinations. In this study, the transportation methods used in solving transportation problem are the NorthWest Corner, Least Cost, and Vogel Approximation methods, by testing the cost optimization using LINDO software. The goal to be achieved in this research is to apply and compare the total cost of distribution at PT. XYZ Bandung City by using the transportation methods in an effort to minimize distribution costs and maximize company profits.
The results of this study indicate that by using the transportation methods, two transportation methods are obtained that produce optimum cost, that is Rp8,657,522, which is lower than the company's calculations, and when tested for the optimality of this cost using LINDO software, a cost of Rp8,657,522 was obtained, while the total distribution cost from the company's calculations is Rp15,209,240. Thus, the use of transportation methods, namely the Least Cost method and the Vogel Approximation method, can save the company cost of Rp6,551,718.
