PRODUKSI KAKAO (Theobroma cacao L.) DI BAWAH JENIS POHON PENAUNG BERBEDA DI KABUPATEN POLEWALI, SULAWESI BARAT

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produksi kakao (Theobroma cacao L.) di bawah jenis pohon penaung berbeda di Kecamatan Mapilli Kabupaten Polewali, Provinsi Sulawesi Barat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling, dengan menentukan 5 sub plot ukuran 20mx20m dalam kebun kakao ukuran 0,5 Ha untuk dua kebun kakao yang berbeda pohon penaungnya. Data diolah dan dianalisa dengan metode deskriptif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sistem agroforestri pada produksi kakao dibawah naungan gamal lebih berpotensi untuk menjadi naungan kakao disebabkan hasil produksi kakao dibawah naungan kelapa pohon yang berproduksi hanya 221 pohon dengan berat 1544Kg/Tahun dibandingkan dengan produksi kakao dibawah naungan gamal jumlah pohon yang dapat berproduksi yaitu 226 pohon dengan berat 1461 Kg/Tahun.

This study aims to determine the production of cocoa (Theobroma cocoa L.) under the different types of shade trees in Mapilli District, Polewali Regency, West Sulawesi. The method used was purposive sampling, by determining 5 plots of size 20 m x 20 m in a 0.5 hectare cocoa farm for two cocoa gardens with different shade trees.The data were processed and analyzed using descriptive and quantitative methods.The results showed that the agroforestry system in cocoa production under gamal was more potential to become a shade of cocoa due to the production of cocoa under the shade of coconut trees which produced only 221 trees weighing 1544 kg / year compared to cocoa production under gamal shade, the number of trees that could produce was 226 trees with a weight of 1461 kg / year.
