REPRESENTASI KEHIDUPAN HOMELESS DI JEPANG DALAM FILM ANIME TOKYO GODFATHERS （東京ゴッドファーザーズ）

This study aims to describe the picture of homeless life in Japan in the Tokyo Godfathers anime film. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with semiotic analysis according to Roland Barthes. The results of this study indicate that in the Tokyo Godfathers anime film, there are five images that represent homeless life in Japan, from where they live to how they survive. Then, through the interpretation of Satoshi Kon's representation of Tokyo society, there are three visible aspects, namely: 1) the capital city of Tokyo is not as prosperous as it seems, (2) the apathetic attitude of the people of Tokyo towards homeless, and 3) the negative stigma of Tokyo society towards homeless.
