Abstract (Abstrak)

This study aims to know the influence of development career and work environment on the performance of education non-permanent civil service education temporary employees and retention as variable intervening at the Hasanuddin University.The research was a quantitave descriptive study. The samples in this study were staffs of Non Permanent Civil Servant Education temporary employees at the Hasanuddin University with past employment started from 5-10 years. Data sources used were primary and secondary data. Methods of data collection were used throught the distribution of questionnaires with Validity Test and Test Reliability of all statemen items. Data analysis were performed using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) version 25 and path analysis to test the significance of indirect effect between variables with the Sobel Test at http://www.quantpsy.org/sobel/sobel.htm. The result of this study indicate that (1) Career Development and The Work Environment have a significant effect on retention; (2) Career Development and Work Environment have a no significant effect on performance;(3) Retention has a significant effect on Performance, and (4) Career Development and the Work Environment have a significant effect on the performance throught retention as an intervening variable.
