Abstract (Abstrak)

Learning English in classes has several shortages to master a language. Those shortages are, lesson time given is considerably short to establish an English environment, ineffective homework with monotonous patterns, and a lack of media used. Game is considered an amusement and decreases students’ productivity. Hence, make Students’ English skills did not improve progressively even after a couple of years of studying. In this research, the researcher uses a facilitative combination of the qualitative method and the quantitative method and uses an experimental approach. In other words, the experimental approach is comparing two data, before giving the variable and after giving the variable, to see the effects of the variable. The researcher then found out that This game helps improve receptive language skills, or listening and reading. In this English environment, students or players become subjects who do not have to provide direct feedback, this makes the students only develop receptive language skills. The researcher can conclude that the Genshin Impact game can work as a virtual environment to help improve the English skills of class XI students at SMAN 3 Makassar. Using quantitative data collection methods is also highly recommended for future research to find the effect of using RPG on English skills.
