PESAN MORAL DALAM NOVEL “ḤIMĀR AL-ḤAKĪM” KARYA TAUFIQ AL-HAKIM

This research discusses the moral message in Taufiq al-Hakim's novel Ḥimār al-Ḥakīm using an intrinsic approach. The objectives of this study are 1) to describe the form of moral messages contained in the novel Ḥimār al-Ḥakīm. 2) Analyzing the forms of moral message delivery in Ḥimār al-Ḥakīm novel.
This research is a library research using descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collected in this study used the observation method which was described using reading and note-taking techniques.
The results showed that the form of moral messages contained in the novel Ḥimār al-Ḥakīm is a) human relations with theirself, such as someone who must have high patience, never give up of all the conditions and not become a person who always postpones the work and does not make promises against something that is out of fashion or something we are unable to keep. b) the relationship between humans and their social environment is like a moral message that teaches us to not always expect alms from the compassion of others and to keep doing the best for others, despite our work and don't be easily tempted by property which is not necessarily able to buy all the happiness and needs of our soul and our bodies. c) the relationship between humans and God is like teaching that humans work for the hereafter as if they will die tomorrow and work for their world as if they will live forever. This research found several conveying types of moral message in Novel Himae al Hakim, those are a). Explicit, it's type of conveying moral message directly and clearly by the text, b). Implicit, it's indirect conveying of moral message, but by the storyline. It doesn't explain moral message in the text, but out of the text. The type purposes to built an aesthetics in novel.
