Abstract (Abstrak)
Sulawesi is one of the archipelago in Indonesia with high seismicity especially in Soroako region. Matano's fault itself is the most active zone of the earthquake in Soroako region. This research is intended to identify Matano Fault using Focus Mechanism method based on earthquake period beetween 2009-2016. The earthquake data used is the one which includes time of incident, coordinate, depth and magnitude. Software used to obtain the focal mechanism of the earthquakes in the study area is Seisgram2K and AZMTAK. The research’s result shows that earthquakes that occur along the Matano Fault follow the pattern of Matano Fault that moves in the left (sinistral). Direction of Matano Fault movement is also influenced by the movement of fault that exist around Matano Fault like Fault Sorong and Palu-Koro Fault.
