Abstract (Abstrak)

YENO. 2022. The Effect of Compensation and Competence on Employee Performance Through Work Motivation at BUMDesa in Curio District, Enrekang Regency. (Supervised by Siti Haerani and Fauziah Umar).
The performance of employees at BUMDesa in Curio District, Enrekang Regency has the mindset of only giving up their duties. In addition, the salary distribution system still uses the method of profit sharing and salaries that are not on time. competence is also a problem because employees have not mastered the work given, this occurs because the job is irrelevant to the field of work at BUMDesa. This study aims to analyze (1) the effect of compensation and competence on work motivation, (2) the effect of compensation, competence and work motivation on employee performance, and (3) the effect of compensation and competence on employee performance through work motivation in BUMDesa in Curio sub-district, Enrekang Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all BUMDesa employees in Curio sub-district, Enrekang Regency, totaling 84 people. The number of samples in this study were 84 people.
The sampling technique used is saturated samples. the data analysis method used is Partial Least Square (PLS) using SmartPLS version 4 software. With the completion of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of this study indicate that (1) compensation and competence have a positive and significant effect on work motivation,(2) compensation, competence and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance,(3) compensation and competence have an indirect significant effect on employee performance through work motivation at BUMDesa in Curio District, Enrekang Regency.
