Abstract (Abstrak)

Abstract
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women worldwide. Currently, magnetic resonance image (MRI) has been widely used for screening of cervical cancer. One of the MRI sequences that plays a role in tumor assessment is Diffusion Weighted Image (DWI) and Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC), which can provide reliable data for the diagnosis of cervical cancer and contribute in selection of optimal therapeutic strategies. This study aims to assess performance of DWI-ADC value on MRI 3.0 Tesla in differentiating histopathological type of cervical uterine cancer before treatment. This research was conducted at Department of Radiology at RSUD dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar from January 2021 to December 2022. This research was a retrospective study using images on the MRI workstation. Statistical data analysis including univariate analysis bivariate analysis with independent t test and ROC analysis, 31 samples were included in the inclusion criteria. Based on the results of independent t test, there is a statistically significant difference between DWI-ADC value of cervical squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) cancer and adenocarcinoma (p<0.001). The mean DWI-ADC value for the histopathological type of cervical adenocarcinoma cancer is higher (1.104 ± 0.213 x 10-3 mm2/sec) compared to squamous cell carcinoma (0.669 ± 0.117 x 10-3 mm2/sec). In conclusion, there is a statistically significant difference in DWI-ADC value based on the histopathological type of cervical cancer. The DWI-ADC value for the histopathological type of adenocarcinoma is higher than that of SCC.
