Abstract (Abstrak)

Baground : Documentation of nursing care is very important to be carried out in hospitals and is a professional demand that must be accounted for, but until now its implementation has not been optimal. It can be seen from the fact that nursing documentation is still incomplete and the contents of nursing documentation are still very varied, so that the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) issued a standard that can be used as a reference in the official nursing process, namely 3S including Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (SDKI), Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI) and Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI) according to cultural disparities in Indonesia. Objectives: To evaluate the application of nursing documentation based on 3S (SDKI, SIKI, SLKI) based on Evidence Based Practice (EBP) on the quality of nursing services in general hospitals in the city of Makassar. Method: quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. Results: The application of 3S (SDKI, SIKI, SLKI) in Indonesia is not optimal, the writing still varies, because most nurses have a lack of knowledge about nursing care standards issued by the PPNI organization, this is because 3S is still relatively new, the lack of time to study, the daily culture of nurses, the lack of staff providing nursing care, and the availability of guidelines in carrying out nursing documentation
Conclusion: The better the EBP-based 3S (SDKI, SIKI, SLKI) in implementing nursing documentation, the better the quality of nursing services.
