Abstract (Abstrak)

This study aimed to determine the farmer's perception of the animal market. This research was conducted in 2021 at Appanang Village, Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency, South Sulawesi. The type of this research was descriptive quantitative research with a survey approach. The number of cattle farmers was 42 people who were chosen using accidental sampling. The data types were qualitative and quantitative data. The data sources were primary and secondary data. The variables consisted of environmental conditions: waste treatment, environmental pollution, animal market smell and environmental pollution in the future. Data collections were carried out through interviews, observation, and literature study. Likert scale was used ranging from 1 until 3 where 1 for did not agree, 2 for neutral, and 3 for agree. The data were analyzed descriptively by using mean and percentage. The results showed that cattle farmers quite agreed that the animal market environment can lead to unfavourable environmental conditions due to the absence of proper treatment of the waste produced such as faeces.
