Abstract (Abstrak)

Watershed characteristics such as: land use, soil type, topography and flow patterns are factors that can trigger the occurrence of floods in a watershed. Floods can cause economic losses and fatalities. Therefore, anticipation program should be considered to reduce the impact of the disaster. The aim of this research was to estimate the potential occurs of flooding in the Balanglohe sub-watershed using scoring models with the geographic information system. The research was done by the analysis, scoring and overlaying some thematic maps based on watershed characteristic factors that affect flooding. The results show that Balanglohe sub-watershed dominated by 67 % area of hilly topography and smooth-textured soils with the average rainfall of 3023.7 mm / year. It is found that 5.40% of the region was an area with potential inundation, while 94.60% was with potential flood runoff.
