Identifikasi Pola Pemanfaatan Lahan oleh Masyarakat Sekitar Hutan di Mallawa, Maros

This research aims to identify the land use model external and internal factors influencing the model practiced by local community both around the forest area in Village of Bentengnge. The result of research is expected to be used as consideration source to formulate the policy that regulates the forming activity of local community both around and in the forest area. Data was obtained through the observation, interview and discussion method to the whole related stakeholders. Sampling method used in this research was purposive sampling. Data that have been collected then calculated, tabulated, classified and descriptively analysed based on the research objective. The study shows that land use practiced by local community consists of dry land use including use of garden and yard as crop-land and wet land use such as wet rice field. Whereas the models practices were mixed plantation, monoculture plantation, crop planted under the candle nut stand and polyculture plantation of forest tree, seasonal crop and palawija crop. Implementation of the land use models was influenced by two factors namely internal factors such as level of need, level of education, experience, welfare orientation and technology competence. Whereas external factor including the availability of buyer/market and accessibility.
